She volunteered for the community, leading Girl Scouts, teaching swimming lessons, teaching piano to the neighborhood children, and being active in her church. She loved being active in all sports, skiing with family and golfing with Alex and girlfriends. Mary enjoyed the careers of a physical education teacher, real estate broker, and homemaker. She enjoyed singing, and playing the piano, trumpet, and violin. She was the beloved mother to Mary Adele, Kathryn (Margo), Janet (Victor), and Carole (Kevin), and also survived by her grandsons Al (Gwen) and Phil, as well as her brother-in-law John Cooper and many nieces and nephews.Mary enjoyed life to the fullest and was very talented. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Alex, her sister Shirley, and her brothers Sonny, Jim, Bill, and Joseph. She was born in Mountain View, Missouri, the daughter of Grace Holt and Ralph Penninger.
